Genesis and Catastrophe - A True Story
In Genesis and Catastrophe, this story is about how a mother is scared to have her baby and think about the future with her newborn child because of what happened to her in the past. Her and her husband had 3 children before this one and they all died. And now she's just scared for her life because she believes its something inherited that is killing all of her children. After she has her fourth child and the doctor tells her how beautiful he is and the fact that he's a healthy little baby she doesn't want to believe him. After trying to convince her for forever, the mother finally turns over to look at her baby after the innkeeper's wife brings her the baby. The husband then comes after the baby is born. Once he looks at the baby he informs his wife on his opinion that this baby is small like Otto which was one of the 3 children they had that died. This brings tears to the Mother's eyes as she thinks about it and at this point there's nothing the doctor can do but try to comfort her and let her know everything is going to be okay.
